A single-leg that does not finish

Most shots die. The useful picture is the sprawl, not the poster frame.

A wrestler sprawls alone on a blue mat during a drill.
Technique

A finished single-leg is a highlight. An unfinished one is the match. The attacker is on a knee, the defender's hips are back, and somebody has to decide whether this was a shot or a way to touch the mat and stand up again.

The second step is the whole technique. Chase the far hip and you might finish. Square up and you are asking to be crossed. Sprawl and the bout returns to the tie you just left, except now one of you is tired and the other is angry.

This page stays with the miss. There is no named bout attached to the still. It is a drill shape the desk uses when we talk about freestyle leg attacks: the shot is the question, the sprawl is the answer, and the answer is usually no.
